2020 is an important year – not only is it the 30th Anniversary of our ASIS NYC Person of the Year Celebration & Conference event, it also marks a new decade during which we will be expanding the NYC Chapter’s reach and providing enhanced services, resources and programs for you. Join in celebrating this year’s 2020 Person of the Year award recipients including the NEW! Healthcare Person of the Year award. During the ceremony, the Security Industry Association (SIA) also presented its annual SIA Insightful Practitioner Award to Jack Hanagriff, infrastructure protection coordinator with the City of Houston Office of Public Safety and Homeland Security.

Dermot Shea was appointed the 44th police commissioner of the City of New York by Mayor Bill de Blasio in December 2019. He previously served as the Chief of Detectives, the Chief of Crime Control Strategies, and the Deputy Commissioner of Operations.

Director of the  National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health
Healthcare Person of the Year 2020

Anthony S. Fauci, M.D. oversees an extensive research portfolio focused on infectious and immune-mediated diseases. He has made many seminal contributions in basic and clinical research and is one of the world’s most-cited biomedical scientists. He was one of the principal architects of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), a program that has saved millions of lives throughout the developing world.

Infrastructure Protection Coordinator with the City of Houston Office of Public Safety and Homeland Security

SIA Insightful Practitioner Award

Hanagriff, who has nearly four decades of experience in public safety, security and law enforcement, is being honored for his work developing plans and programs to protect facilities and events in Houston, as well as his efforts to partner with the security technology industry. He is a member of the SIA Public Safety Interest Group, has participated in multiple SIA and ISC webinars and educational sessions, and has launched a program that brings together security technology providers and Houston-area practitioners in order to more effectively address challenges related to crime and terrorism.
