ISC West Posts 56% YoY Growth in Attendance
For the second year in a row, attendance at ISC West in Las Vegas grew by more than 50 percent on a year-over-year basis. More than 27,000 security industry professionals attended or exhibited at the event this year, which ran from March 28-30 at the Venetian Expo—56 percent more than 2022, which was 88 percent bigger than 2021. Attendees thronged the exhibition space, viewing and evaluating products, solutions and technology from 660 companies.
"As the nation’s leading comprehensive and converged security trade event of the year, attendance numbers from ISC West were remarkable, proving our industry is resilient and continuing to grow," said Mary Beth Shaughnessy, ISC Event Vice President.
The 2023 event drew praise from attendees for its traditionally strong speaker lineup—this year highlighted by former White House CIO and cybersecurity expert Theresa Payton, University of Kentucky Chief of Police Joe Monroe, former Executive Vice President & General Manager of Levi’s Stadium Jim Mercurio and Executive Director of Global Safety and Security John Bertsch of the IRONMAN Group—and several new features. The Bridge Stage at the center of the show floor and the adjacent New Products and Solutions Awards showcase area were completely redesigned for this year and event organizers added a Career Zone where attendees benefitted from sessions, mentoring and a headshot studio focused on making them more valuable to current and prospective employers.
Shaugnessy noted that the increased attendance, new featured areas of the show floor, and an increased emphasis on the conference’s education program created “a pre-pandemic atmosphere that left many attendees speechless.”
The SIA Education@ISC programming set records for the number of professionals who took advantage of the opportunity to keep themselves current with the latest trends in security strategy, tactics, technology and regulation. Nearly 90 percent more security pros attended educational sessions this year compared to 2022, according to Don Erickson, CEO of security industry advocate and premier sponsor of ISC West, SIA.
“The value of this ISC West was seen also in the many meetings and special events that allowed the entire security ecosystem to come together on important topics like school security, standards development, cyber-physical security, protection of critical infrastructure and the growth of our industry’s workforce,” Erickson said. “The 2023 event reinforced why ISC West is considered the nation’s premier security event.”
Up next for the ISC team is ISC East 2023. The event, scheduled for Nov. 14-16, will again take place at the Javits Center in New York City in collaboration with premier sponsor SIA and in partnership with ASIS NYC. Next year’s ISC West will return to the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas April 9-12. Visit the ISC West website or contact the Customer Service team at [email protected] for more information.
